Kinja'd!!!

There’s a road that I sometimes take to dodge the much more clogged road that’s posted at 30mph through a neighborhood and I really try not to take it and when I do take it I try not to speed but things happen.

If there are kids playing, drive faster.

I believe the HOA spies in my neighborhood confuse noise level with speed. they’re right, I’m VERY loud, but I’m not speeding, so yelling at me to slowdown makes no sense

They should yell at you to shut up.

I kid. Loud is car is good car.

That used to happen with my old Jeep J10. The fan was hugely loud unless I blipped the throttle a little, so it sounded like I was racing when going 20.

Well this is definitely the case in my BMW with a really crappy exhaust.

When people misjudge/overreact to speed, I just take that as a cue to put my foot down.

What’s the worst they can do? Call the cops when they see me coming through regularly? I was driving sane until you screeched, as I do every time I come through, the cop isn’t going to do anything other than make them look stupid.

I do try and be respectful. But on the flip side as a dad, ive tried to teach my daughter to respect how fast cars go even if it’s 25-30mph, and to be very cautious crossing streets. She’s only two and she already says, “look for cars” and actually does look for them.

I’m always getting looks or signals to slow down in my development. I’m not actually going that fast, but my exhaust makes them think otherwise. Though, I do like going fast through roundabouts.

I’m driving in the mornings through a park road at 7:30 thats marked 25mph. Its my regular drive to work until December or January when a construction project near work should be finished. Its not the official detour which is clogged with cars, 18 wheelers, dumps and backhoes. In two miles I might see 1-7 cars and pass 10 houses. Today I was driving along at close to 40mph when I saw the fender of a police car hidden in the bushes. I must have gotten it under 30 by the time I passed him because I didn’t get tagged. I’ll change my Fruit-o-the-Looms tonight.
